The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking to a Hospital Laboratory Technician 3 to join their BURL Outreach Clinical Laboratory. Major duties include: • Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages • Prepare specimens for analysis and assists in coordination of couriers and routes, including follow-ups on service delays • Instruct and train laboratory personnel in the performance of new and/or modified procedures • Assist supervisor with drafting preliminary daily and/or monthly staff work schedules • Assist in validation and implementation of new processes • Assist with initial and/or annual competency assessment of laboratory personnel NOTE: This position may provide coverage at various locations in Southern California (e.g. Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Woodland Hills, Santa Clarita, Porter Ranch, Calabasas, Burbank, Century City, Encino, Panorama City and Torrance). Salary Range: $33.90 - $44.75/hour
• A current, California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I Certificate • High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET) • Must have at least 3 years of recent phlebotomy experience • Must be able to work at various locations within Southern California (e.g. Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Woodland Hills, Santa Clarita, Porter Ranch, Calabasas, Burbank, Century City, Encino, Panorama City and Torrance). • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships • Excellent communication, organization and time management skills • Skill in performing related computer procedures (LIS, HIS) • Knowledgeable in quality assurance practices, preferred
