Purpose of the position

  • Execute Kalmar/Bromma Sourcing Supplier Development processes, tools and strategies, to continuously improve Suppliers performance, to mitigate risks in terms of Quality , Delivery ,Capacity and Sustainability in close cooperation with the Sourcing, Operation , Kalmar Senior Manager Global Supplier Development.
  • SD Team Leader is the lead of escalated supplier cases from Operation with the regards to Quality, Claims and Delivery.
  • SD Team Leader is responsible to manage PPAP and QAP projects assigned to meet the agreed lead time.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Actively support and develop the Supplier Development team day-to-day activities within the region
  • Drive and lead set Supplier Development processes, strategies and team to achieve assigned business plan and project targets.
  • Develop, establish and rolling out set strategies to drive supplier quality and delivery performance within Bromma in close cooperation with the Sourcing and SR Manager of Supplier Development
  • Implement and maintain Supplier quality procedures & standards to continuously improve the efficiency of the Supplier Development way of working
  • Ensure the process for supplier evaluation and supplier audits are followed.
  • Manage the team activities to ensure quality, delivery, cost and sustainability targets are consistently with Kalmar’s & Bromma’s Strategy
  • Coordinate and manage supplier quality, delivery, and sustainability performance from pre-production, serial production and market.
  • To support the SD team with
    • all SD aspects of new parts introduction and change control
    • actions to develop suppliers to meet quality, delivery and sustainability performance.
    • supplier status on escalated suppliers in alert level
  • Actively manages and supports the Supplier Development day-to-day activities.
  • Is responsible to secure Quality and Delivery in supplier changes.
  • To develop and coach suppliers to improve quality performance and supplier operational capabilities to meet company requirements.
  • Manage supplier evaluation, audit program and supplier approval & rating program through a robust qualification process.
  • To be the main supplier point of contact regarding severe technical and quality issues.
  • Interface with suppliers and work closely with cross functional partners to drive quality improvements.
  • Manages the part and processes assurance in line with project targets and timing.
  • Lead investigations to determine the root causes on material quality issues and initiate or ensure corrective and preventive action plans are developed and executed.
  • Travels domestically and internationally to evaluate the quality of supplier products assigned by Sourcing.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in response to changes and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners.
  • Accept tasks assign by Manager

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Education
    • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Quality ,Engineering , Or similar
  • Experience
    • Min 5 years of quality management and production systems in batch or mass production.
    • Product Development within Purchasing is required with Supply Chain experience background is a plus
  • Competencies
    • Strong Production, Manufacturing, Quality system-, Project management skills.
    • Lean manufacturing principles and tools. Six sigma or equivalent.
    • Knowledge about requirements of ISO 9000,14001 and 4500 as a minimum
    • Proven process auditor , knowledge about APQP and PPAP
    • Strong communication skills in English
    • Proven ability to work effectively in matrix organization and ability to manage and influence others
